I've taken some time to write about Locke because I just couldn't figure out how to rate it. Now, I like a unique Independent, but this film needed some kind of hook--maybe a surprise at the end. It has a simple premise: Ivan Locke (Tom Hardy-Inception, Batman Rises) drives his BMW around for 90 minutes as his life falls apart. That's it. Yes, it's a good performance, although maybe a touch melodramatic, and it's definitely unique, but I left feeling like there was something missing. Loads of reviews have loved this film, but it didn't resonate with me.
