City Island

If you like dysfunction in your movies, you'll like City Island. Set in the Bronx, Vince (Andy Garcia), is a prison guard who dreams of being an actor. His wife, Julianna Margulies, thinks he's cheating on her because he tells her he's playing poker all the time when, in fact, he's taking acting lessons. Vince discovers that one of his inmates is actually his son, and he brings him home. Their daughter is supposed to be in school, but she is actually a stripper. See what I mean. I enjoyed it because I like quirky films like this, but I've seen better dysfunction (like American Beauty?).
